where have you been all my life, mr. gold? it was this book that got me discovering all the little food nooks and crannies that LA has to offer. it's also as much of a good read as it is a great directory--mr gold is so descriptive about the restaurants' food as well as their 'hoods, their customers, and their history that you feel like you're there.
