Kiva.org is an amazing website that allows you to loan money to third-word businesses. Almost all of the loans--which can be made in increments as small as $25--have been paid back to date. It's a great way to invest in the future and help make a less fortunate person's dream of owning their own business and becoming financially stable come true! Whether it's helping someone in Kenya buy a goat or helping someone in Guatemala start a shoe-making business, this website is a great network that makes big things happen. (via Kiva)

Kiva is the most fantastic program out there - KIva lets you lend money to a specific entrepreneur in the developing world - empowering them to left themselves out of poverty.

By choosing a business on Kiva.org, you can "sponsor a business" and help the world's working poor make great strides towards economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates from the business you've sponsored. As loans are repaid, you get your loan money back.

Kiva lets you loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world. You can "sponsor a business" and help the world's working poor make great strides towards economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates from the business you've sponsored. As loans are repaid, you get your loan money back. When your Kiva loan is repaid, you can choose to withdraw your funds or re-loan to a new business. It’s microfinancing at its best!
