Alan Vega and Martin Rev made some strange but compelling music. This set includes the second album, plus unreleased demos and rehearsal tapes. The first time I heard a Suicide song was Bruce Springsteen covering "Dream Baby Dream". Such a simple song, with droning vocals, but when Suicide does it, there's something really raw about it. Great songs though, from a couple of real unique characters in music.

I was just thinking about this band the other day. Thrill Jockey put out a movie called Looking for a Thrill a few years ago. There's a section with Thurston Moore talking about the first time he ever saw Suicide (at Max's Kansas City, no less) that is so incredibly laugh-out-loud funny. Great movie in general.
