This is slightly lighter than the Robot Coupe but still a solid brand I like to use in hand blenders. They are lightweight and easy to clean.

It is the perfect tool for a small kitchen. It makes quick work of anything that needs to be mashed, blended or whipped, is easy to clean, and is magic when making soups, which are often too hot for the blender. What's not to love?

Who couldn’t use a tool like this? It is one handy gadget!
Instead of taking up space on the countertop, stow it away in a drawer. This tool will allow you to cook and puree food in the same pot, so you avoid the hassle of blending in batches. Cleaning: A SNAP! rinse in hot, soapy water, air dry and put it away! (via neglectarine)

At first you think it is a frivolous purchase -- why do I need a hand blender when I have a real blender as well as a food processor. Well, let me tell you -- have you ever needed to puree something hot, say for soup. You take your ladle, you put some of the liquid in the blender -- and spill some on the cook top -- you put the top on the blender and turn it on, only to have the steam kick the top off, spraying soup all over you, your dog, and the rest of the kitchen. What a mess -- and dangerous, what if some of that hot soup had gotten into your eyes?
Even if you succeeded in mixing it in the blender, you still got at least 3 more batches, and you need to put the pureed soup into a new, clean pot.
With a hand blender, no problem, just insert the unit into the hot soup and turn it on - there is no splash and little noise... in under a min. you can turn quarts of chunky product into a silky , creamy mix -- all in the same pot -- forget about the mess, this is it. And it doesn't cost $100 either (via Amazon)

I swear whoever invented this thing should win a nobel prize. I use it day in and day out for everything from breakfast smoothies to potato soup. The multiple attachments make it so versatile - this is definately a must have in every kitchen!
