After lugging around the same tired laptop breifcase for several years, I finally decided that it was time to make a change. I wanted something that was classy enough to carry into the boardroom, but functional enough to handle the amount and kinds of stuff that I carry on a typical day.

This J&M expandable is small enough so that it doesn't look like a suitcase, but large enough to swallow a large laptop with power cords and peripherals, large portfolio, and plenty of client files and marketing collateral. The front panel has a full zip-around that hides dual cellphone/PDA slots, three pen loops, card slots, usb slot, a key retention fob, as well as an internal zippered envelope pocket. There are also several other pockets strategically located within the other sections of this bag, designed to hold power cords and other accessories. If all this isn't enough, the bag expands by another 1.5 inches to make room for even more stuff. You won't need it, but it's there if you do.

The bottom of the bag features rubberized treads designed to save the bottom of the bag in real-world situations. The carrying handles are strong and soft, and the matching leather padded shoulder strap is adjustable and comfortable. The leather is of fine quality, on par with what you'd expect from Johnston & Murphy.

Perhaps the coolest feature of this bag is the little, integrated external pocket near the top of the organizer panel on the outside of the bag. It has hidden magnets to hold it closed, but is very easy to open with one hand, and is perfectly sized for the item you'll reach for most often - your PDA/Phone.
