This is one great beer- rich, dark, great flavor w/a lot of subtlety. Ommegang is both old school and modern in that it is Belgian beer brewed in upstate New York. I also like the name- it has onomatopoetic appeal, sounds fun and delicious.

I've tried the Ommegang Abbey Ale & the Three Philosophers - which tastes of cherry & chocolate. They're both excellent. Can't wait to try the others.

My friends at the Cliffhanger Cafe in Keene Valley introduced me to Ommegang last summer. Not sure how easy it is to find on the west coast, but it's a damn good beer and it brings back good memories.
