Wow. This phone does everything. It's beautiful. It runs unix. Apple's crack team has outdone themselves with an innovative UI to control a beyond-complete hardware package including motion sensors, light sensors, a proximity sensor (to detect when it's near your ear) and of course every other de rigeur gadget offered by a top-of-the-line smartphone. Unless that virtual keyboard sucks, this is the treo replacement I've been waiting for. UPDATE: I've heard the iPhone may be a closed system. That is to say, you may not be able to create or install 3rd party software like you can for the treo. That would be a deal-killer. Let's hope Apple opens it up. Or maybe Safari is a good-enough development platform to support the proliferation of 3rd-party apps.

oh boy - we're one step closer to total world Apple domination. From the site: "iPhone also introduces an entirely new user interface based on a large multi-touch display and pioneering new software, letting you control everything with just your fingers. So it ushers in an era of software power and sophistication never before seen in a mobile device, completely redefining what you can do on a mobile phone.". Yummy.

The iPhone... now why would I put in something that has been brought before your eyes a zillion times again, simply cuz its just so adorably perfect. Seems surprising that even after all the experience of Nokia, Samsung and Motorola; its Apple who with its first baby is making waves. AT&T has fielded 1 million serious inquiries about the iPhone already and latest news is that Apple definitely promises to being it to you by June. The iPhone definitely has to be the first product that I would recommend as a 'must have' and also as the coolest thing in recent times destined to re-write the cellular rules.

If you're even remotely interested in technology, you've just got to marvel at how they got it right. Personally, I can't remember being so excited about a new product. The interface is just incredible. You'll finally have a device that combines your phone, mp3 player and laptop... and it fits in your pocket. Plus, from an aesthetic standpoint, it's one of the most beautiful devices I've ever seen. Thank you Apple.

The Apple iPhone is intensely flawed. It is tied to a horrible carrier (AT&T), it is locked down, it won't accept normal headphone jacks, it has no cut and paste. The list goes on and on. And yet, it is amazing, an artifact from the future. Its tiny LCD is twice the density of a laptop screen. Its touch screen interface is easier to use than any Palm ever was. Videos are crisp and clear. Music is a joy. Google Maps is fast and usually works well. Text is incredibly legible. Most of all, the iPhone satisfies our primal urge that the world be more responsive to us. A simple plane of optical glass that lights up to our touch reminds us that our desire is that the things around us attain a degree of sentience. In suggesting an entirely new relation with things, it is a glorious triumph.

Revolutionary! finally the west has met up with the east in cellphone technology. in sillicon valley, where this lil geek stays at, i am mighty proud of this historic piece of machinery. anyone that has ever laid eyes on the crescent apple insignia will recognize this is a machine to be reckoned with. with it's conception, everything reliable, user friendly, and sleek comes to fruitation for apple, yet along with those comes the gut wrenching price, inadaptability with any services besides att&t(the new cingular).as adaptable as an apple machine can be. which means they'll be making improvements on and on and on. and on...

I lost my Blackberry heliskiing in Alaska's Chugach Mountain Range. Needless to say I wasn't going back to find it and personally I was tired of answering emails on my vacation! So when I got back home I decided to replace my Blackberry with the iPhone because I like the design - it's very sexy. I don't miss my berry at all, plus I have my iTunes and my pictures from my trip to show my friends. I'm very happy.

well cellphones are a really big deal in school. students used it all day lond during school time, seriously. it is mainly used for text messages rather than calls during school time. since you wouldnt be able to make a call anyways during school time as it is againts school laws; student always sneackely send text messages to their friends during classes. they hide their cellphones under the desk, inside their backpacks or even use a book to hide their cellphones whenever they are sendindg a text message to friends trying to avoid being caught by their teachers. Ultimately cellphones are the ultimate accesory in school as many students wear it in their belt buckles to show off the cellphone they have. particularly for this schoolyear if you have an iphone to show off many will gasp at the sight, be jealous that you have it, and make you the center of attention that you desired when you decided to show off that you had the ultimate gadget in technology. so if i had an iphone not only would i have everything I want at the palm of my hand but it will make me the center of attention by friends and schoolmates.

It has now been two months since the release date of this phone/ipod/internet viewer/video player/conversation starter and I can now finally give my honest opinion of the device. My experience with this phone has been one of enjoyment and frustration. What I like: - Screen - Battery Life - Easy of use - Size - How it gets hot hot women to begin and open a conversation with you ANYWHERE - Ipod functionality - Design - Internet browser - wifi compatibility What I dislike: - Slow edge data speeds - Sluggish lag - Occasional crashing - How other men are very open to starting a conversation with you ANYWHERE - Finger print magnet (I have OCD issues, my things need to look pristine) - No ability to save pictures from emails onto phone - No customizable ring tones To be perfectly honest, the iphone does each of the items it was designed for very well. I think most people expect this device to be everything. Apple did a superb job with following the "keep it simple" philosophy. The phone just works. Even my mother can figure out her way around this thing after just a week of playing it. The keyboard does have it's drawbacks. But with anything...you get use to it. I can type away on the phone with no problems. And for the people who complain how it is hard to text while driving, my question is, "Why the heck are you texting and driving in the first place?!" The iphone is a love it or hate it device. Those who just need a phone and nothing else should be the one's purchasing this thing. I advise those who need a pda/palm/smartphone device to go buy a Treo or a pocket PC device. So if you have $600.00 to drop then go buy the thing!

I play around this phone while i was at AT&T. I fell in love with it.... It's good for text message, notes, internet, weather, A LOT OF STUFF!! It's very thin so you can sneck into school easily! It's good for those in a business career. It's good for organizing data and info.

It took a bit to unlock it, but I've got my iPhone happily working with T-Mobile. It really is the best phone I've ever owned. I've heard people complain that it is not as efficient at email as a Blackberry. They are right, but that's a good thing. It's good enough and doesn't cause the email OCD that Blackberries seem to incite. Best un-hyped feature- the alarm clock functions. Mobile phone alarm clocks are so hard to use you never really want to trust them. The iPhone's alarm clock is easy to use and allows setting of multiple reoccurring alarms. Not only great for travel, it has replaced my clock radio at home.

Sleek, small, versitile....yes its the iPhone! The latest thing to come out of Apple (besides the new Nano) the iPhone is taking the country by storm and companies are making huge profits. This phone can do everything, like a computer in your pocket. Its got the capability of video, picture, text, touch screen (too bad the chinese got to it first), iPod, internet, everything but the kitchen sink (thats in the next iPhone :). Besides its extreamly high price of $2000 and a huge bill (which AT&T is the only provider) this is the new hot commodity (like little dogs for celebs). This is definately something you want to save your money for (for fun go to youtube.com and search for 'My First iPhone Bill' or go to willitblend.com and search around for iPhone)

I know that everyone is onboard with how wonderful and innovative the iPhone is. I am one of those people as well. Just a few things to add though. The phone itself is so remarkably easy. Everything is no more than three steps away. Visual voicemail is great and directly below the voicemail is a great big call back button. SO easy and simple. Some of the bad though. Only syncing through iTunes, only being able to sync to one computer, no drag and drop, the Edge network is extremely slow and I discovered that when in driving directions its not easy to go back to the main search menu. All that aside I still am in love with my iPhone.

Although this first round of iphones are more like a ipod with phone capabilities rather than the other way, the bits that are not phone dependent (like maps, internet, weather, and so on) point the way to what may come next--the smallest Mac on the planet, my biggest disappointment is that I can't cut and paste anything, which I can do on most other phones, otherwise I do love the clear easy to read interface, that in it's self is worth the money.

Couldn't live without! Started back in the dark ages with pda & a phone. Worked up to the Samsung PDA/phone combo all the way to Treo. Never ventured toward the blackberry. The iPhone is an a league of its own. It is by no means perfect, but it does not even compare to any of the PDA/phone combos I have ever owned. It will only get better. And hey, none of the current phones on the market out there are without their problems. I would much rather have the iPhone with its flaws than any other phone on the market.

I'll be the first to admit it can be a little touchy every now and then, but it is a small price to pay for it's design and function. Mine even survived a beer spill... *Update* I'm jones-ing for the 3g, although you have to pay extra for the text messaging and service, and the kids at Apple say it's not enough faster to be worth upgrading to. It's just getting pretty hard to find cases or anything cool for the original!

Apple did it again. With a great deal of fanfair Jobs produced the iPhone and the world has not been the same since. For the first time ever, there was a phone that you could use your fingers to navigate with. For the first time ever, a phone had a real operating system with the ability to use applications made for it and loaded on it. And for the umpteenth time ever everyone else has to scramble to keep up with Apple.

I'm in the process of selling my legacy model to get this one. The fact that the EDGE network is so slow was one of my main complaints with the previous version. The 3G capabilities take care of all that. Albeit trivial, I like the solid black backing as well.

Everyone I know who has an iPhone says it has literally changed their life; that no other gadget/phone/technology has made them so deliriously happy or completely content as the iPhone. As a solid Verizon customer, I put off getting an iPhone for an entire year. It was expensive, I was stuck in a contract, and it was a 1st gen. I will wait no longer. I went with the White 16GB. The new iPhone 3G is twice as fast at half the price. "With fast 3G wireless technology, GPS mapping, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange, and the new App Store, iPhone 3G puts even more features at your fingertips. And like the original iPhone, it combines three products in one — a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device with rich HTML email and a desktop-class web browser. iPhone 3G. It redefines what a mobile phone can do — again."

Before the iPhone I owned very basic phones. I'd say to myself, "A phone is only for phone calls ! What else do I need it to do?" Apparently I just hadn't found the phone I wanted yet. Until this. You see, in my messenger bag, I carry my cellphone, an iPod and a Nokia 770 Internet tablet. Now I carry one device to rule them all! Well ok, it's still just a phone but being able to play music, watch movies, and surf the net whenever I want has really changed my commute into work. And it's made my messenger bag much lighter. Sure other phones have better cameras or other features. But to me the interface of the phone is unmatched. Everything else feels old. Do you think it's a coincidence that there are so many new phones coming out with big touchscreens? Don't think so.

This is the next generation in Apple's revolutionary phone concept. The iPhone hit big last year, and now has been updated and is already setting sales records across the country. This version combines most of the original's design concepts, while adding the much faster 3G network capabilities, along with a GPS function. All this added with tons of productive and fun applications, thanks to the iPhone's 2.0 software update, make this the most amazing communication device in the world today. I strongly recommend this product.

I have everything I could possibly want in a phone in this phone. I have all my pictures, contacts, a couple of movies and every song I've ever downloaded through iTunes stored on this phone. I never realized how much I depended on it until I lost it for 24 hours. Needless to say I felt like I was missing an arm until I got it back! The 3G speed combined with new support for exchange email makes this phone complete. I've always been the first to buy new phones when they come out, but now that I have the iPhone Ill never buy a different phone again!

I loved my first gen iPhone, and I waited in line for 2 hours to get the 3G. Honestly, functionality-wise, it's not THAT much different besides the faster Internet (which you don't get all the time), and GPS. The plastic back and slightly improved battery life are a plus if you're upgrading. If you've never had an iPhone before, I highly recommend this! I've had blackberries, nokias, etc, and so far this is the best phone I've ever had. It syncs well with my mac (not sure how it is for PC people), and it's the best time killer. I'll never get mad if I'm waiting in a long line, or if I'm waiting for anyone. I can simply bring out my iPhone to browse the web, watch movies, listen to music, or play games.

I've had this phone since day 1, and got it after having had numerous incarnations of blackberries. I do miss a few things (such as vtxting, which was free and not an obscene 10c per). Also, I hear that if you've never had a device with copy/pasting abilities, you don't even know it's not there. I did have it before, and I do miss it. However... I am indeed happier with this that I was with the BBerries. Not really sure how to quantify ALL the pros and cons here... and not sure that would be helpful. The "wow" factor definitely helps, especially with clients at business meetings (we use this phone as our company phone at our firm). It screams that we're attuned to innovation. It also is very light and inconspicuous when it has to be. The one anecdote that really exemplifies the reason I love this device so much is this: as I travel a lot, I'm always in airplanes. As the cabin door closed for departure not too long ago, a flight attendant came round and told me to please shut my device off. I did so, and once we were airborne, I turned it on again when instructed it was "safe" to do so. FA came back and said "cell-phones" are never safe. I went ahead and showed him how I had turned off wireless capabilities. The icon is a helpful little plane instead of the "signal bars." Now, you may think that was nice of the designers to make it easy for "authority figures" to see. But really, it made MY life easier, because I did not have to explain anything, it was intuitive for the FA. Making it easy for HIM to understand made MY life easy. And THAT's good design!!

Since i have gotten sick i can no longer work as fast as those young girls or guys on the p.c. typing away at their instant messenger or their Itunes getting songs for their ipods. Even on the phone all the time clicking so quickly text messaging people. I wish now that i have learned to understand the more simpler things in life, that i could have a phone to enjoy using the phone for all of its feature and not missing out on some because im to busy to realize there there. I wish i could win a phone for the grace of winning a real working phone and how much fun that would be!

Really?! How is this not perfect. If you need to snap a shot out on the job site you can. If you need a Level out on a job site there is an app for that. Email no problem. Driving Directions....notepad....calendar....you name it there is an app....if there isn't there will be....I have had my iphone for over a year and I honestly don't know how I got along without it. It's a handheld portable office. And an ipod in one! Seriously?! I love apple!

I love my iPhone! I was one of the first 1,000 people that purchased one when it first came out. As soon as the upgrade came along you bet I was in line for hours to get mine!! The idea of carrying everything I need in one little device saves my purse from the abuse it normally gets from having one too many electronics or other bulky items that you can find to add to your iPhone. My diet diary, note pads, music, local maps, restuarant lists, and so much more keeps me organized and traveling light!

I have the original iPhone. At first i thought it would be scary and difficult to use, me being a tech-phobe and all, but it's easy as anything!! I like downloading music while on the go, and even if i don't know the name of the song i can find out using Safari. For instance, when i first heard the trailer song for Watchmen, i loved it but didn't know know it was, i googled it, it came up as smashing pumpkins so i opened itunes and downloaded it. The whole process took less than ten minutes! The same goes for applications, using the App Store, I can find any sort of application i might want, games, organising tools, even things to help me sleep. And a lot of these don't cost a penny. Calls are easy to manage, texts show up in the form of IMs which easier that flicking back and forth between texts. Emails are a breeze to receive and send. The only problem many people have with this phone is that you can't send or receive MMS however with the new software update available in the summer this and many other features will be added. I love my phone, i wouldn't swap it for any other!!

I have had my 3G for about a year, and I am constantly on it. The buttons took a little getting use to, but as soon as I did, you could not tear me away. I moved cities, so it's been really helpful; GPS-ing myself around town, Yelping a good place to eat, etc. The iphone does everything, and everything it doesn't do you can find an application that will do it. The only downfall to my phone is the fact I cannot take video or receive picture messages (unless I log on the internet and have the ID and password memorized), but I can live without those things in comparison to everything it does do.

The iPhone 3G S doesn't make the same grand leap that the iPhone 3G made from the first-generation model, but the latest Apple handset is still a compelling upgrade for some users. The iPhone 3G S is faster and we appreciate the new features and extended battery life, but call quality and 3G reception still need improvement.

This is the best phone ever. Its you phone, music and has great apps. The best apps for students is the excuse generator for homework. It has worked wonders for me. Also the fake caller and fake text means you can get out of those tricky situation with that really ugly lad or that girl who wants you so bad. And for all this it is pretty cheap. Best ever !!

LiveLoveGoods's recommendation
if you have an iphone that is jailbroken and unlocked, don't download the new 3.1.3 firmware from itunes. It will completely lock your phone and you will lose all your info. They can only restore it to AT&T and you won't be able to get the T-mobile network back. It's great other than having to sell it on ebay and get a new one so I can run with tmobile!

Love, love, LOVE my iPhone & I only have 2 downloaded apps on it so far. Just having the Apps that already come with it make it worth it for me, especially the Maps & internet programs. I check my stock prices & weather at the touch of a finger. This mini-computer is indispensible for me. Am excited to explore & get more Apps.

Even though many have already commented on the iphone, I have to still say that I love my iphone. It is like carrying a lot of stuff all in one device. I receive my work and personal emails, while reserving a video at a local redbox, checking facebook for the address of an event I have to get to. I get a call letting me know that the meeting is going to be late, so I quickly find the nearest coffee shop to kill some time surfing the internet or reading a book - all on my iphone. There are a lot of people who dislike this gadget, but I think it's the best thing ever. I owned the first gen, then purchased the 3GS+. Once the contract runs out, I will then purchase the newest one again. Can't beat it :)
