This tale takes place in my hometown of NOVA (that's northern VIrginia for all you lames that don't know nothing about that)! More specifically, The high school known as T.C. WIlliams was the first white school to be integrated in the commonwealth of VA. When this happenned, it was requested that the football coach had to be Black as well. Enter coach Boone (Denzel Washington) he had to go in and the old head coach was demoted to assistant coach. Coach Boone had to win EVERY game basically or it was his ass (don't you love equality)!
The interesting thing about T.C., is that it is like 100% Black today. It is the "Blackest" school in NOVA. Also of interest is that Walt Disney was a big time racist. So it does my heart good to see Disney crank out these Black history type stories.
