Description
Geek bling. The Shinshoku (Corrosion) is the newest watch released by TokyoFlash. It’s aiming for an industrial look; in fact, it’s basically a bracelet made out of an aluminium band with holes punched in it. Beneath 29 of these holes there are LEDs. You can choose between LEDs of different colors(red, green, yellow) or the same colors, which will make the watch even more cryptic, and also impractical in the dark, as only the shallow etching in the middle will have to be seen. The principle is rather simple. The red(left side) LEDs show the hour, the bottom right 3 LEDs (green) show elapsed 15 minutes-intervals, and the top right ones (yellow) shows single minutes past the last quarter hour.

This futuristic watch looks much more like jewelry than a time piece. The LED display might take a bit of getting used to, but I think would be easy once you get the hang of it- not to mention easy to see in the dark.

I came across these watches among other styles a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love them. The styling is great as well as the way to tell time. Twelve red LEDs indicate the hour, three green LEDs indicate 15, 30 and 45 minutes past the hour and fourteen yellow LEDs indicate single minutes. I guarantee the next time someone asks you the time, it will take you a few minutes to figure it out.

There are a lot of watches out there. And while most of them are those nasty bottom-feeders with the suckhole mouth, there are a few that break the glimmering surface of the water, to glisten in the sunset for a few fleeting moments like some kind of glorious marlin.
