I'm not an expert, but this seems to help the wine last a bit longer. It was also recommended to me by a bartender.

My best friend on the road and behind the bar has always been this simple little tool. It has made it possible to use the same wines for more than a week in some cases and reduces waste to a minimum. A few pumps with the sealer and the excess air is out and my wine's deliciousness is saved for near-future consumption.
