My best friend on the road and behind the bar has always been this simple little tool. It has made it possible to use the same wines for more than a week in some cases and reduces waste to a minimum. It is second only to a true Cruvinet system for preserving wine, but Vacu Vin can come along for the ride and won't cost you a small fortune.

If you're like me and can only have a glass (or two) of wine at a time then this product is a life saver. Your bottle of wine will be tasty all week long...or however many days it takes you to finish the entire bottle.

When I'm not getting bold with the wine decanters (like on school nights, when I'm really only going to commit to one glass) I rely on these vacuum-seal stoppers to keep my bottle from going bad. A few pumps with the sealer and the excess air is out and my wine's deliciousness is saved for near-future consumption.

My sister uses this product and swears by it. Allows you to reseal the bottle after opening, ensuring that you can still keep the wine for up to a week later. Great if you don't want to waste what is left in the bottle...

I went too long without these little guys and sacrificed many bottles of wine because of it. Don't let it happen to you!

I once had this wine party. Everyone brought wine. I woke up the next morning with a litle head ache and not looking to clean. I found three or four bottles of wine that were opened and never touched. If I had this little gagdet I wouldn't have had to buy wine for the weekend.
This is a must have, buy two; just in case. (via www.amazon.com)

who opens a bottle of wine and deson't finish it?!? not me, but if, perchance, by some unlucky alignment of the stars, have to leave a little bit of wine in the bottle, you absolutely must seal it with the vacu vin wine saver. suck out the nasty air, then seal it up until tomorrow night, when you do it all over again!

Keeps open wine fresh for 2 weeks. I gave this to my in-laws, they love it, since they don't usually finish a bottle at one sitting. Available in most liquor stores, you just have to look for it.
