  I was a fan of the great German choreographer Pina Bausch before I had even seen any of her performances. Just the still photographs that would appear here and sparked a curiosity and an appreciation of her work. Luckily for me I was able to see several of her pieces before she passed. I believe that Wim Wenders has been able to capture the rare essence of Pina Bausch's Tanztheater Wupperta in this film, and I am extremely grateful for that.
