The lamp is a very novel idea. It is well made - EXCEPT for two CRUCIAL things.... first the tool to tighten the joints is made from very mickey-mouse and soft alloy, allowing it to strip well before you tighten the joints. Second, the set screws must be made from the same mickey-mouse soft alloy metal, as the set screws strip far too easily. I like the lamp so much I returned the first one with all the stripped pieces and got another but used my hardened tools on it. (and I am NOT some backyard schumck with a tool and half a brain, I am a mechanical engineer and worked for years as a kid in auto dealership parts rooms and as mechanics assistant.)
