I bought their first generation device years ago and I love it. This is the best way to listen to your mp3 music collection via your stereo. No need to fumble with the computer, there is a remote control and the bright display can be read across the room. For geeks, the slimserver software can be installed on any server running OS X, Windows or any flavor of Linux, and the entire thing is controlled from a web browser as well as the device itself.

I spent about six months -- off and on -- trying to build my own silent (fanless), remote-controlled mp3-player appliance with an ethernet input and SPDIF output. My friend bought a squeezebox for a couple hundred bucks. Now I've done the same and I can't imagine what I was thinking.

I loved my original SliMP3, the predecesor to the squeezebox. From all accounts, Slim Devices has only made things better in the following generations. Though I passed on my SliMP3, I am seriously tempted to pick up a new Squeezebox, especially with all of the streaming Internet radio it supports in addition to listening to your MP3 collection on your Linux box.

Wirklich cool an diesem Streaming Media Device ist, dass ich Pandora mit Fernbedienung im Wohnzimmer hören und bedienen kann.

This is an exceptional product, simply because you plug it in and it works. I tried the slingbox and wanted to take my own life it was so hard to get working.

The Squeezebox is perfect for the music-loving geek. Their software's open source, so you can stream MP3s to your living room...and display RSS headlines at the same time!

The good people over at Slim Devices must drink that 'smart water' stuff all day long. They come up with cool gadgets that answer real-world needs, are incredibly easy to use and (best of all) their prices ROCK! Like you, I have tons of digital music files on my PC and I sometimes wish that I could bang them out over my home stereo instead of the PC sound system. This amazing device, called a Squeezebox, does just that - without wires - for 300 bucks.

Revolutionizes how you listen to music. Amazingly flexible, extendable open-source server software, high-quality DAC, support for all your favorite formats including lossless formats (native FLAC decoding). A solution for whole-house audio and remote streaming. Control via ir remote, web browsers, command-line interface, third-party standalone apps, crestron/amx systems. A no-compromise, complete solution for the audiophile/techie crowd. Also interfaces with Rhapsody. User community is second-to-none. Too much functionality to cover here. Check it out for yourself!

So lovely and so sleek. I love that the display image is playing Pink Martini! Music to my ears.

I love my airport express, but I hate having to lug my laptop out of its bag and set it down somewhere in order to get some tunes. Now there's a way for me to kick out some great jams, without the computer. Slim Devices Squeezebox connects to your network via an earthernet cable, then outputs directly to your receiver. Now it's compatable with Pandora, so even when my computer is busy with other things, I can get some nice ear candy.

Here's the thing about playing music over a home network: You can sit on your couch and make party playlists on your laptop. Then, you press play on the first track of your list, and the music pours out of your speakers automatically. Theoretically, you could do this trick from anywhere in the world that has an Internet connection. But I'd feel sorry for your house-bound cats and dogs.

I have my laptop connected to Pioneer speakers through a USB box, but if I didn't have the setup I have this is definitely the next best thing; so much easier to use and move around.

This wireless device allows you to connect with your computer and play a variety of digital music files aloud. You can also pipe internet radio stations and online service like Pandora through it.

O does NOT understand why O's owner loves this, this Slim Device. O is a slim device that sings too! But this Squeezebox (what kind of name is THAT???) is NOT a poet, but O IS. AND O is portable, SB is NOT. O's owner says that the SB is solidly constructed and attractive. O is VERY attractive, and is older than SB--has lasted longer--so who cares about solidly built besides O's owner??? NOBODY!!!

The Squeezebox is a must have device is most of your music collection is digital. If it isn't, you have more serious problems so keep moving... The Squeezebox connects to the machine you have you music collection on over wifi and lets you control it all via the remote. Perfect for playing the party mix.
