Another essential Burning Man purchase. Oh yes it is. You can't walk around in the dark with no lighting on. That headlamp doesn't count. In fact, turn it off, you're blinding me. What you need is something a little more pleasant and fun to look at, just enough to alert people to you presence so they don't run you over in the dark. Plus, a headlamp doesn't illuminate the back side of you, unless you wear one each direction, thereby blinding even more people.

Get creative with this stuff, you can make patterns and pictures, or just wrap it around your head a few times like a halo. Don't worry, no one will mistake you for being angelic.

El Wire is definitely the way to go for Burning Man. You can dec-out your entire bike like a neon spaceship, which will ensure you will be seen by the thousands of bicycles roaming around the playa at night. I've seen some amazing art cars completely outlined in these wires, and they look amazing.

Forget the glow sticks. This is the way to go. More is better, buy all you can afford. You'll be happy when you're there, in fact you'll be downright radiant. (via spench)
