We've tried lots of carriers and this is the one that we love the most. We travel a lot and this goes with us easily! It doesn't take up the room that a frame pack would. My back and shoulders do not hurt as they did with ALL other carriers. Add the coordinating backpack to store needed items and you're off! Use the infant pillow insert to carry your newborn. Later, use as a front, hip and/or back carry! Can be used well into toddlerhood! The website even has videos to show you how to use it! These are made in China under Fair Trade. I've only carried by 14-month old daughter in the front position (so I can't comment on what it's like to carry her on my back), but I love this carrier. She has never been a fan of her stroller, and this thing has saved my arms from exhaustion many times. I think this would be a much-appreciated and used baby shower gift.

I was initially a strict fan of the Bjorn, but I've been won over by the versatility of the Ergo and by the fact that it puts the weight on your hips rather than on your shoulders (which is key when your toddler, like mine is pushing 25 lbs). (via narsenau)
