14x11.5x11.5 and Weighin 14.4lbs, this fountain is made of bonded stone. The goddess of wealth, happiness and beauty, Lakshmi emerged from an ocean of milk when the Gods churned it to produce divine nectar, or Amrita becoming at once Vishnu’s consort. She is pictured as the ideal female beauty, slim-waisted, and full breasted. When she is shown separately from Vishnu, she has four hands: in two of them she holds lotus flowers, while the other two hands bestow the gifts of well-being and prosperity. When she is shown with Vishnu, Lakshmi has only two hands. She resides on the lotus flower, and sometimes has elephants on either side of her. The new moon of November is dedicated to her. Lakshmi is said to live in sweet-smelling floral garlands which bring fortune and wealth to those who wear them. She is also seen as a fertility goddess and is linked to the soils richness.
