The Head Family of Minamoto-Kicho-an's Japanese traditional sweet "MARRON YOKAN". They have some shops in other countries (including NYC and Fort Lee, NJ). http://www.kitchoan.co.jp/ovsshop/index.html (via Minamoto-Kicho-an)

Great choice, I'm in Tokyo right now and was thinking of how to bring some back... maybe I'll just buy some when I get back in the states.

Oooh, this looks yummy. What makes it hard to get through customs? Is it a particular ingredient or is that true of food from Japan to US in general?

Hello. These are yummy... not too sweet... and the texture is incredible. Unfortunately these sweets are packaged in a long package that resembles a stick of TNT. The questions from U.S. customs are interesting to say the least.
