Whats the difference between a geek and a nerd? For that matter, what's the difference between a sci-fi geek and a medieval history geek? Do Ren-fair geeks and programming geeks get along? American Nerd by Benjamin Nugent dissects the different types of geeks and nerds in american society, defines them (to the extent that we can be defined) and then weaves a societal and psychological thread between the types of geeks and nerds to show a commonality between us.

Fascinating, invigorating,, and hilarious. Its a great book and a must read for anyone who considers themselves geeks... (or for people who know geeks and desperately wants to figure us out).
