a great little runabout. tight, responsive handling, braking and acceleration (though i think the engine's rated at something like 110hp, so it's not gonna win many drag races) and gets 32-34mpg highway and close to 30mpg city, even with my lead foot.

the rear seats fold flat for a surprisingly big cabin (got a 5-shelf bookcase home in it). built-in line-in for yr ipod, too.

complaints are minor: the steering is light and cokehead-twitchy, the ipod interface is the single worst thing honda has ever produced, and the over-the-shoulder view is blocked by the big headrests and side pillars. the interior isn't super-luxurious and there's no sunroof option, but what do you want for 14 grand? useful, practical and fun. i'd say it beats anything available for less than 20k.

I just got the automatic sport model in December.... and I LOVE THIS CAR.
Great car for the money. The 'magic seat' is super cool. I got the Blackberry Pearl -- really pretty (when it's clean).

I highly recommend getting this one in manual. It's more fun to drive that way, zippy. Awesome fuel economy at 27 city/34 highway mpg.

34 Mpg and so darn cute. I love the hatchback, it will be really easy to load my gear.

Don't tell Fritz (my sexy dark blue Jetta), but I think I have Fit envy. My roommate came home with an adorable little silver one last night and took me for a spin around the block. So. Cute. And perfect for city living - small enough to park, but still has plenty of room, fold down seats and good gas mileage.
I hear the 2009 version comes with a sunroof option, which earlier models didn't have. It will also come in pink!!!
