"The Great Gracie Chase:Stop that Dog!" is such a great book that it deserves 2 titles. Gracie is a dog. She likes her quiet house. Imagine her shock when the painters come one day and make lots of noise. That is how the Great Gracie Chase begins.
Mark Teague should have won a Caldecott for the illustrations of any of his books. "The Great Gracie Chase" is no exception. Cynthia Rylant writes a great story as usual.
Kids love to say the fish's line: "Ploop ploop."
