The antique originals kept tabs on an upholsterer's accoutrements; now they offer pride of place to treasures whimsical or sophisticated, books, drinkware, the goods ofa good life. The handcrafted plantation-grown hardwood is painted black without, red within, rubbed to a suitably vintagey finish. Each cubby numbered, housed within antique brass cardholders.
