Kind of hard to avoid the idea that this is a straightforward update on Pet Sounds-era Brian Wilson--or that listening to High Llamas and Apples in Stereo throughout the '90s didn't make us already feel at home with the sound--but this 1/4 Animal Collective solo album is equally catchy and weird, which makes for comforting and challenging listening in just the right amounts.

Panda Bear is the moniker of Noah Lennox, the founding member of Animal Collective. This is his third solo album and it been widely praised by, basically, everyone that listens to it. It's comparable to Pet Sounds and is destined to be one of the better albums ever,
