When I was in graduate school I had the good fortune of meeting the wonderful women of Gees Bend. I would LOVE to own a Gees Bend Quilt. They've been exhibited at countless museums and galleries worldwide. These quilts have sparked numerous debates in the art world about the line between art and craft and the notions of outsider art. P.S.: Seeing how geometry is resurfacing in the fashion world I could see a line of clothing and accessories inspired by these talented ladies' designs. Bags, maybe?
