I know people could probably argue that there are too many history movies and documentaries on World War 2. But the War By Ken Burns is different. The thing I liked most is that it tells the stories of the wars effect on individuals back at home, not just on the war front. At times the series can be quite emotional.

It does tell the story from an American perspective, but this makes it all the more personal. Some would argue that it is too American biased, but this is not true. Ken Burns covers the not so nice aspects of World War II such as internment of Japanese-Americans back home.

As a gift I would recommend the DVD Box series to any Grandparent or relative who lived through that time or as a case history to keep for prosperity for your children. (via Danny)

This is the latest documentary from Ken Burns, who made probably the most famous American Civil War documentary many years ago. I'm glad to see World War 2 get the Ken Burns treatment.
