*The* punk album. If you know no other, you know London Calling. Incredibly catchy and incredibly raw, this is what punk was all about. With killer bass lines from that guy on the cover, Mr. Paul Simonon, great lyrics from Joe Strummer and Mick Jones, and a strong backbone thanks to Topper Headon. This album withstands the test of time and the fickleness of taste. It's also influenced countless musicians. "London Calling", "Rudy Can't Fail", "Lost in the Supermarket", "Clampdown", "Guns of Brixton", "Death or Glory, "Train in Vain"... pick a favorite? No Way!

Not only a great record, but the iconic cover contains one of the most powerful rock images as it combines the dangerous sexuality and provocation of Elvis and The Who into a full-on black and white punk moment.

I'm not a girl who's into dreaming up lots of rules and requirements for prospective suitors, but there is one absolute dealbreaker that I cannot let slip: If you're a boy and you don't love The Clash to death, then - sorry - it's just not going to work out. And no, I don't want to be just friends either. (via esh)
