Jim Sturgess. Try and not fall in love with him and his sexy accent.
Oh, and the Beatles songs fitting in perfectly with the story are pretty neat too. ;)

I just saw this movie today & I loved it! I don't know if it is the romantic in me, the incredible music or the many references to the 60's that made me not want it to end.
Across the Universe captured the 60's perfectly and the way they wove in the Beatles music
was fantastic. Although, the music is the center of attention it's not just the music, but often the meaning behind it that got to me. Now I know why it was nominated for so many awards.

I'm a big Beatles fan and normally turn my nose up in disdain at covers, but this movie really transforms the Beatles catalogue into something new and exciting. I'm going to have to get the soundtrack and relive it many more times. A definite must-see.

Let me start off by saying I hate musical movues. I do. I hate them. I tried to watch the movie Rent and I damn near jumped out the window. However since i heard so many great things about Across the Universe in the media as well as right here on ThisNext that I had to give it a watch.
Um ... I freaking LOVE this movie.
It started off a little weird for me since I am not really one for people breaking out into song but once it got going I didn't want the movie to end. Great music, great story -- in fact, I think I might watch it again tonight.

I'm totally going to go bittorrent this now. Thanks for the rec.

This is by far the best movie of the decade! Thumbs up, the creative minds have pushed the limits with 29 wonderful Beatle cover songs. As you trip along with the cast, you'll love the colors, meanings, and characters you meet along the way! I had to buy this movie the second it came out!
