I listened to The Fountainhead on my commute because a friend had purchsed the audio book. I think it was better than listening to talk radio, but I still find Ayn Rand's writing somewhat tedious to plod through.

Ayn Rand's writing is not for everyone and usually provokes rather strong emotions as in i "LOVE" it or I "HATE" it. After reading her work you should be cautious about recommending it to people whose opinion you care about because you may judge them based on what they think about it. If you like controversy, then ask for peoples opinions of Rand's work, if not, read this book for yourself only.
For those who have read and do treasure her work, Easton Press may have a leather bound gold leaf editions that are not in the catalogue. Call and ask..

Wonderful book! Read it my senior year of high school. This is the book that influenced me to choose English as my major in college. If you like this, you should also read "The Virtue of Selfishness" by Ayn Rand. It serves as a good companion / reference to "The Fountainhead".

Ayn Rand is an amazing storyteller. Putting philosophical differences aside, she brilliantly wrote epic stories with colorful, intriguing characters and grandiose plots. If you're a design or architecture aficionado, you'll appreciate the story of The Fountainhead - one man's journey to stay true to his artistic vision at any cost. (via Chantel)

As a writer goes, Ayn Rand is a storyteller. I often get crap for liking her books but its not the philosophy I read for its the story. (via esh)
