As a fan of both Tan Dun and Yo-yo Ma I was instantly excited when I first learned that they headed the commissioned symphony for reunification of Hong Kong to China. I was only a little girl at the time but this instantly became one of my favourites. At the time I was in the middle of my classical training as a pianist and would play along to the strings. This is a beautiful mix of both eastern and western sounds and comes together as pure harmony.
