One of most anticipated movies of 2008; "The Dark Knight" was sadly marked by the death of Heath Ledger. About "The Dark Knight" Continuing on from events in 2005's "Batman Begins". With the mass release of Arkham Asylum's criminally insane patients, and Carmine Falcone's god-like hold on the city's underworld shattered, Gotham City's underworld has been thrown into disarray with three warring factions - Falcone's remaining empire, Chechen mafia and a group of street thugs vying for power. As Bruce Wayne continues his fight as Batman to clean up the streets, a new and more dangerous threat emerges - The Joker. The facially scarred, cold-blooded psychopath has robbed the city's largest bank of all organised crime funds in the city and uses it to extort the factions into uniting and helping him get rid of Batman. Meanwhile Bruce seems to find a new ally in Harvey Dent, a popular candidate to become the city's next District Attorney.

I'm a HUGE Batman fan and loved the first of this series. Can't wait to see what Heath Ledger does with the Joker.

Okay, everyone in the world has now seen this movie and probably loved it, but let me tell you -- I saw it in Amsterdam, in Dutch, unable to make out a WORD of the dialogue...and I still loved it. Best popcorn movie of the year, maybe of the past 5 years.

The follow-up to "Batman Begins", "The Dark Knight" reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in his continuing war on crime. With the help of Lt. Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves effective, but soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker, who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces Batman closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante. Heath Ledger stars as archvillain The Joker, and Aaron Eckhart plays Dent. Maggie Gyllenhaal joins the cast as Rachel Dawes. Returning from "Batman Begins" are Gary Oldman as Gordon, Michael Caine as Alfred and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox. Dolby TrueHD: English 5.1; Disc One: Feature Film; "Gotham Uncovered: Creation Of A Scene" - Director Christopher Nolan and Creative Collaborators unmask the incredible detail and planning behind the film, including stunt staging, filming in IMAX(R), the New Bat-Suit and Bat-Pod and more... Disc Two: "Batman Tech - The Incredible Gadgets" (in Hi-Def); "Batman Unmasked: The Psychology Of The Dark Knight" - Delve into the psyche of Bruce Wayne and the world of 'Batman' through real-world psychotherapy (in Hi-Def); "Gotham Tonight" - 6 Episodes of Gotham Cable's Premier news program; "The Galleries" - The Joker Cards, Concept Art, Poster Art, Production Stills, Trailers & TV Spots; "BD Live", Documentary.

... I did see it three times in theater. So, I'm obviously going to buy this. I'm opting for the two-disc special with the digital copy though. Why? Because I'm dorky enough to really love spacial features and the digital copy will allow me to watch it tonight -- hip hip hooray!

A fantastic movie directed by Christopher Nolan. Heath Ledger's stellar performance as The Joker feels real and completely terrifying. This is one Batman movie that will definitely frighten small children.

The Dark Knight was a fantastic sequel to Batman Begins- I believe one of the most watched movies of the year (I think this because my boyfriend dragged me to it 4 times!!). It was absolutely rivetting, and a must buy//see for anyone. Blu-ray is the only way to go these days, and the clear picture really makes this movie come alive!
