The hula hoop is a great low/no impact form of cardiovascular exercise. The purpose of the weighted hula is to allow for easier hula hooping. The extra weight allows people who can't hula hoop well to be able to hula hoop longer because you have to move faster to keep a lighter hula hoop at waist level. This activity also does a great job of engaging your core which makes it unique among cardiovascular routines.
