Yesterday was my birthday and my husband gave me this beautiful Alvar Aalto vase by Iittala because he knows I love modern designs... and flowers! Although sold on AllModern.com, my husband originally got the idea from reading a modern decor blog called Unique Home Decor. This is the address if you'd like to take a look: http://uniquedecor.blogspot.com/ There's a very well-written post about this crystal Iittala vase and how Alvar Aalto's vases have been timeless modern classics for over 70 years! My husband surprised me with the Iittala vase filled with wild flowers from a farmer's market and they looked absolutely STUNNING. There's so many ways you can arrange the flowers in this vase (and they all look great!), and although it's a large vase, it looks nice filled with a whole bouquet of flowers or a few simple stems.
