These make me think of brown lunchbags decorated with doilies, hearts and glitter. No doubt about it, V-day was best in elementary school. And not just because the Valentines were so darn cute and there was a rule that EVERYONE had to give a card to EVERYONE. It was also great because life was so simple then that no one thought twice about eating candy that some germy kid had stuck to a card with paste, carried to school in a backpack and stuffed into said decorated brown lunchbag.
Finally, let's not forget the Simpson's Valentine's Day episose when Ralphie hands Lisa a Valentine and says, "Lisa, I choo-choo-choose You. And, look, it has a picture of a train!" and then she disses him. Agony.

Valentines don't get any better than this! I love these retro valentines - they capture the corny humor of our youth. (via fred flare)

blast from the past. as i kid, i hated giving these out because i thought they weren't as cool as the disney or cartoon-related ones but as time continues to prove i had no idea what i was doing as child. i love these. (via esh)

Remember second grade? All of the boys and girls thought each other were pretty icky, so it was especially awkward giving each other these pun-heavy declarations of love. That said, I still have a soft spot for these cheesy retro V-day cards. I especially like the space-themed pack with cheesy lines like “I don’t like space between us, Valentine” and “You’re out of this world.” (via Little Splurge)

If you are over the age of 10, you really shouldn't send out Valentines. ..If you work in a normal office setting with normal sqaures, accountants and secretaries, you really shouldn't send out Valentines...
But if you must-- go for these awesome retro valentines... they are composed brilliantly and are waaaay better than the Hannah Montana leftovers from your kids.

I love the sweet, genuine nature of these retro valentines. Available in both classic and space themes. Get one of each just for the fun of it. You will avoid having to scour the racks of the card stores on February 13th. (via Fred Flare)

These take me back. Not quite to the 50's, but I seem to remember similar styles in the early 70's. Why are all the modern cards tied in to commercial TV/movie/game characters?
Warning: These cards were a lot smaller than I expected, so pay attention to the sizes when ordering.
