I love Silversun Pickups foremost because they got their name from the package store where I buy my liquor a lot of the time, but also because singer/bassist Nikki Monninger is so fierce and has this weird, scary voice that gives me shivers, and because there's something about the guitar sound that's really dreamy and reminds me lots of Smashing Pumpkins, in the best way (and I never even cared all that much about Smashing Pumpkins in the first place). Favorite track: "Lazy Eye."

I've really enjoyed Silversun Pickups ever since I got to LA. At home...doesn't quite fit as well. But here, I can feel like an angsty hipster/surfer/beach child anytime I want.
