I’d been looking for an alternative to the vinyl binder and found it in ‘Rebinder:’ a corrugated cardboard binder [35-38% postconsumer waste] with a metal 3-ring strip which can be unscrewed if the cover needs replacing [they supply replacement covers]. However, the cardboard is very durable and I have yet to replace any. Additionally, the binders are assembled by Goodwill Industries, through their job-training program.

as owner of about a zillion vinyl binders, i am kicking myself hard for finding these sooner. if you must keep papers around (as i must), be sure to keep them all in these recycled/recyclable binders! a clever idea that i hope spreads to other manufacturers. from what i can tell, these must be purchased in bulk.
