The Nintendo DS is the newest handheld system by Nintendo. It features a system which is built around the use of a stylus, dual screens, and a mic for gameplay. The usual gamepad and game buttons are also present for regular game playing.
The battery life is pretty good with about 10 hours of gameplay possible. Loading times are non - existent because the games are on solid state rom cartridges. Another plus of the system is it's ability to play old Gameboy Advance games.
Overall the dual screens, stylus and mic add a great deal to games which make use of them. I remember finding the first time I found myself yelling at my Nintendo DS for a Zelda game to be quite humorous.

My daughter who is 9 loves her DS. It's great because there are not only fun games to play on it, but also many educational, brain challenging games that can be bought for this system. I even enjoy playing several of my daughters games. My daughter also likes to chat with her friends on it! It sounded crazy at first to me because they were in two seperate rooms "chatting" when they could have just talked, but it helps with writting and spelling!

I got one about a couple years ago, and i love using to play all my favorite games. The Nintendo DS Lite is lighter, brighter, and better. on specific games you can go on the net and play your favorite game with them.
