On a roll with the Kwanzaa decorations and gifts--this gift (zawadi) is an excellent example of the principle of Kuumba: all about the creativity. Your kids create their own story and it comes back bound like a real book.
What a cool way to capture creativity and have a lasting keepsake of your child's unique take on the world.

Kids write their own story and send it off, it comes back as a hardbound book. Fabulous! I gave this to my niece last Christmas, she loved it and completed the book. Wonderful gift for a budding writer, to inspire confidence, and most importantly - to teach the skill of FINISHING.

SuperTeacher's recommendation
This is a Smart Steal from SuperTeacher and if teachers had the budget, I bet every single teacher would buy this for their students! There are a great self publishing websites that provide this service: giving YOU the opportunity to create a book. Lulu.com is a great site that is easy to use and prints your own hard cover book. I have used Lulu in my classroom and my students were able to create their own books. And, they loved it! Being able to create a real book is a powerful experience for a kid.
However, this product is different from these self publishing websites for 1 major reasons:
1. It is tactile. While self publishing websites offer kids the ability publish a hard cover book, Illustory is a hands on activity that enages your children in a capacity that a computer cannot! Don't kids sit in front of the computer enough these days? SUPPORT the cause!Prevent the EXTINCTION of boardgames!
BUY Illustory for your kids this Holiday season! (via 1002)
