The Freecycle Network is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns.
Lately, despite my This Next addiction, I have sought to opt out of the consumer-product lifecycle. Freecycle forums promote waste reduction by hooking people who want to give stuff away up with people who want to get free stuff. It's a good idea, well-executed.
This is just too crazy! Support your neighborhood...a give a little. take a little. love a lot! much love!
i have been able to get rid of computer monitors, PDA's, random household items by giving them a new home thanks to freecycle. it rocks! and is so easy- u just post an email. i also get email updates when people post their own 'giveaways'.
