i have been able to get rid of computer monitors, PDA's, random household items by giving them a new home thanks to freecycle.

it rocks! and is so easy- u just post an email.
i also get email updates when people post their own 'giveaways'.

Lately, despite my This Next addiction, I have sought to opt out of the consumer-product lifecycle.

Freecycle forums promote waste reduction by hooking people who want to give stuff away up with people who want to get free stuff. It's a good idea, well-executed.
