This is easily one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time. "The Listening" from North Carolina's Little Brother provides an expansion of the warm native tongues sound pioneered by A Tribe Called Quest, Slum Village, De La Soul, the Pharcyde, and similar artists. You need this for your collection.

This is one album that captures the fun and loose creativity that made rap music so appealing. It's an honest and refreshing presentation, with great production and greater all around entertainment value.

This is what started it all. 9th, Phonte and Pooh probably never realized how much they would impact hip hop with this album. I can't count how many times I have bought this album, given it away, bought it again, given it away...If you love hip hop, this project NEEDS to be in your collection.

Nice production, refreshing lyrics and themes, solid MCs with modern style flows and a little old school mixed in. They managed to bring back a little bit of purity and playfulness to hip hop, which reminds me of A Tribe Called Quest. This album is most certainly an underground classic.
