I had tendinitis and back pain for years, until a physical therapist suggested I try yoga. I was a little wary, but Sonic Yoga practices Vinyasa (or "Power") Yoga, which strengthens muscles as much as, if not more than, it stretches them --> exactly what my prematurely aching back needed.

Vinyasa Yoga emphasizes constant movement, so it turns into an aerobic workout rather than a stretching class. The clean, airy space and friendly, low-pressure - yet motivating - instructors attract a diverse group of practitioners: men and women, athletes and office professionals, die-hard yogis and casual practitioners.

Also, the studio organizes cool events, from author visits/book signings to surf retreats in Montauk and Costa Rica.
