After much searching, I've come to the conclusion that Degree makes the best deodorants (at least in the USA) overall. Sure, there are standout here and there, but Degree is tops.
Silver Ion is a new collection and it's pretty cool. In addition to the regular anti-perspirant chemical, there's silver in there too. Silver kills bacteria and the smelly compounds they produce.
The best part is the stick itself - it's clear, but not a gel. It's not a crumbling white stick either. It's like a cool hybrid gel-stick, which goes on clear and dries in seconds. No 'wet' feeling or stained clothes. It's slightly cooling on contact too. It's really perfect!
I only tried the 'Arctic Edge' scent, which I like. It's similar to their 'Cool Rush' scent but a little sweeter. It's enough to make you smell nice without coming off like cologne. And it lasts a full 24 hours.
I plan to check out the other scents, but for now, this is my day-to-day deo.
(For those with minds like mine, Degree is produced by Unilever. Unilever owns lots of brands, including Axe. I think they take Axe and tone down the frat-boy marketing as well as the overpowering scents, and call that Degree. It even has the same shape with the full-bottom twist dispenser. So it's kinda similar to an axe scent's essence, but so, so much better and more refined. And yes, it is officially very, very sad that I thought so much, and written so far, about a stick of deodorant.)

Not necessarily an anti persperant. I was a regular Degree Men Cool Rush deoderant user when I saw the new Silver Ion type.
Bought it instead thinking better performance....not for me.
I rarely ever sweat but I wear deodorant for preventative measure. This deodorant actually makes me sweat under my arm pits!
Odd. I figured it was a breaking in period since I've been using the same type for about a year now. Nope. Can't deal with it. I'd rather wear nothing than this...which makes me sweat and smell.
Back to the original for me.
Guess the older works better with my body chemistry.

Interesting. You may be right about it not necessarily being an anti-perspirant. I thought so originally as it contains chloride, a common ingredient (SIlver Cholride to be exact). However there is no aluminum, the most used active ingredient. I am not sure if Silver Chloride does the same stuff Aluminum Chloride does. I would think so but I'd have to check.
I'll call up the company one day. Yes, I am that geeky.
