I first received flatland in high school, a gift from my calculus teacher to all of us who made it through the first year of calculus. It was entitled "Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions" and was a fantastically read. They've made a movie out of it now and placed Martin Sheen and Kristen Bell as the main characters. It's so exciting to see Flatland brought to life...because who doesn't love a movie about math and dimensions.
