It is important that I keep my files with me at all times and capture footage from the camcorder onto a source other than my MacBook Pro. This durable and lightweight drive sports 5400 rpm as well fw800, fw400 and usb2.

i've lost two external hard drives since i started using them - a western digital and a smartdisk firelite... granted, i put my externals thru a rough life, especially in college when i lugged them around from apt to library to class to home for the weekend... but still, since having this one, i have had no problems, no even minor glitches, and i loved it so much i even bought it for my baby sister for her bday (random i know, but she is a photographer, so the fear of losing her work is even worse than for me as a writer, since i can get it back/re-assemble it from disks and papers... everything of hers is on a computer and a hard drive).... more expensive than the other options at the apple store... but soo worth it....
