Ohmigod, It is 8 a.m and my rainbow t-shirt is on, and my hair is feathered. My comb is in the back pocket of my Jordache jeans. My dad dropped me off at Skate Town and I was SO ready for the Couples Skate.

Rollerblades, schmollerblades. Get a pair of real skates and relive the '80s. A little "Tom Sawyer." anyone? Rush rules!

You can't beat a nice pair of old school skates like this. I still have my skates that are 25-30 years old and still have red Devil Wheels on them :-) Old School style is the way to go. I would recommend these skates to any women shopping for skates.

Every Friday night for the entire year of 1982, at a small-town Kansas skating rink, I could be found workin' a giant, pink Goody comb in the back pocket of my Jordache jeans to the funky sounds of Kool & the Gang. I drank "suicides" from the soda machine and played Ms Pac-Man until my wrist cramped up...and I could SKATE like nobody's business. (Sure, I had enormous glasses and a mouthful of metal, but I still felt super-foxy whizzing around the wobbly kids on the rink with my golden locks flowing free.) My skates back then had dirty yellow wheels that were nothing to write home about. This pair, however, is a serious upgrade in the cuteness factor. I so can't wait to roller boogie on Venice Beach on these!

YES! I never mastered the roller blades when they were the thing, but four skate wheels.... that I've been doing since I was 8. Love these. Pink wheels and white boots is retro AND neo..... Awesome. I am buying ASAP. (via fredflare.com)
