This kwikset modernization kit is the perfect piece of hardware to reinforce a door that has had the lock assembly and door edge damaged by vandalism or a burglary. This was designed to allow standard door hardware to fit old style doors that were originally prepped with mortise box locksets. But any door that has holes or damage around the door knob area can be fixed with this hardware. It will allow you to salvage a damaged door that would otherwise need to be replaced. This modernization kit contains the interior and exterior face plates, the door edge latch plate, the strike plate, and all required screws and fasteners. The modernization kit works with all kwikset door knobs and levers- sold separately - to achieve a secure and beautiful door.
