My brother introduced me to Macs in 1987 and I’ve owned no other computer since then. The interface is more elegant than Windows, the machines are more reliable and more beautifully designed, as well as operating much more intuitively. Don’t try to tell me that almost everyone uses a PC: when, other than the 2000 Presidential Election, has the majority been right?

As a software engineer writing code for mac and windows, the MacBook Pro makes my life infinitely easier. Not only is it much faster than my T43 laptop, it also lets me have one machine for everything I do. With 2 gigs of RAM, I can switch effortlessly between Mac and Windows and fix bugs on both platforms. And while the machine does run a bit hot, it's well worth the heat (and occasional pain) to finally have an Apple laptop that is as fast, it not faster, than anything else on the market

I lusted after one for so long, that I was afraid when I actually got it I would be disappointed. I was thrilled to find that not only did it live up to my wildest dreams, it exceeded them! Fast and beautiful, I can't live without it. I thought the remote control would never be used, but I download shows from my ReplayTV and watch them on my laptop. The remote turns out to be incredibly useful. When I am tired for the night, and don't want to get up to shut down my laptop, I press and hold the play button, and it puts itself to sleep. Magnificent, I absolutely love it. On top of all this, I run VMWare Fusion, so any work stuff that HAS to be done on a Windows machine, can be done without actually having to haul around a separate windows machine! And VMWare is SO fast, it's literally running the other operating system faster than my old laptop. Love it love it love it.

Stylishly and intelligently designed for mobile professionals, Apple's MacBook Pro gets a serious speed bump with the new, powerful Intel chipset (dubbed Santa Rosa), which provides a faster Core 2 Duo processor, longer battery life, and native support for 802.11n wireless connectivity. This model (MA895LL/A) also includes a new mercury-free, power-efficient LED-backlit display measuring 15.4 inches and a state-of-the art NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT video card for more realistic graphics for animation and gaming. This MacBook Pro is powered by the new 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo T7500 processor and 2 GB of 667 MHz DDR2 memory--the fastest portable computer memory currently on the market (June 2007). But some things haven't changed: the trademark stunning aluminum enclosure that's is just one-inch thin, built-in iSight video camera, and Apple's magnetically connected MagSafe power adapter, which safely disconnects when under strain.

I bought a 17" MacBook back when Apple first introduced them (back then they were called "PowerBooks", of course). Five years later, it's amazing to see how far the MacBook has come. It looks and feels almost exactly like the original, until you begin to notice the subtle details. The magnetic power cord that "pops" off if someone accidentally trips on it. The screen is sharper and has a significant boost in resolution. The processor is a screaming-fast dual-core intel. All wrapped up in its familiar aluminum shell, with a backlit keyboard. Ah, sweet bliss...

I recently replaced my home PC with the MacBook Pro. Big Purchase. Great choice. The interface is intuitive, seamless, and user-friendly. Realizing that design does in fact matter when it comes to computers, Apple has tapped into what turns people on when it comes to technology and created a machine with a look and feel that is pleasing and approachable, even to the tech-phobic. AND it runs well. What more could you ask for in a laptop?

I'm in love with MacBook Pro. Part of it is Mac OS 10.5 -- useful, fast and helps me get productive. Shutdown and start-up are blindingly fast, and a lot of the aids that I'd have to buy as extras elsewhere are built in. Part of it are the great apps I get -- Aperture for managing my photo workflow and for publishing online or Safari for the best browsing experience. Part of it is a laptop that looks and feels how a laptop should look and feel and yet delivers like a desktop. Part of it is that the one time it broke (the battery eventually died) Apple shipped a new battery out, which arrived the next day -- no questions asked -- after which it continued to work flawlessly.

The worlds thinnest and lightest 17 inch laptop with a break through 8 hour battery life. The battery in the new 17-inch MacBook Pro lasts up to 8 hours on a single charge and can be recharged up to 1000 times — compared with only 200 to 300 times for typical notebooks. To do this, Apple engineers custom-designed lithium-polymer cells to create the largest possible battery, then they went even further: They built the battery right into the computer, eliminating the space-consuming mechanisms and housings that standard removable batteries require. The result is a battery that’s 40 percent bigger than the previous generation and offers up to 8 hours of wireless productivity on a single charge. This notebook is less than an inch thin, weighs just 6.6 pounds, and remains the same price as the previous-generation model. Apple re-engineered this battery at the electro-chemical level and integrated it into the laptop recharging to make longer lasting using adaptive charging. With a normal laptop the battery is dying after less than two years with this one battery should last five years. Apple cost more, but it will last longer, it will be more reliable, and it will let you spend your time using your computer instead of working on your computer!

Photobooth is a fun app for anyone who loves to take photobooth style pics, with a bunch of different effects for personalization. My user picture? Photobooth. The advantages of having a Macbook Pro? You can make your computer turn itself on in the AM just in time for your cup of coffee. iTunes is made for Mac so the "shell" software doesn't freeze up and crash left and right like it will for some people on windows.

Since dec. 2009 I have my first Mac, the MacBook Pro. It's a great laptop. Till now I was a windows user but I'm already fond of Apple with pages, numbers and keynotes. The browser Safari is not my choice, I work with Chrome.

I'm a new Mac user and lover! I purchase the 13" MacBook Pro about 6 months ago and I can not live with out it. It's light to tote around with its awesome sleek, thin design. It starts up fast--programs, applications and web surfing is a cinch. Everything is just easier with a mac. The battery life is great! I can usually go a whole day without a charge. The battery is very light weight and is small. I use my notebook for school and business. I also got a pink hard case for it. This was the best investment I've made to date and I tell everyone that this machine is my golden "pink" ticket!

The design and construction of the system remain largely the same as last year's model, with a solid block of aluminum carved down, rather than a thin outer shell that has had support struts added to it. It's both lighter and sturdier than the older plastic versions of the 13-inch MacBook. The new Pro also retains the same oversize trackpad, where the entire surface depresses like a button--although a simple tapping (as on a PC laptop) will also work once you turn that option on in the settings menu. We've become accustomed to the two-, three-, and four-finger multitouch gestures, which let you hide all your apps by sweeping four fingers up on the pad, or bring up the application switcher by sweeping four fingers left or right. Once you get used to that, going back to a regular touch pad is difficult. According to Apple, the new display offers a wider color gamut, and the screen certainly looks bright and colorful, but we wish the same matte-screen option offered on the 17-inch MacBook Pro was available across the line. The 13.3-inch wide-screen LCD offers a 1,280x800-pixel native resolution, which is standard for screens this size, but we'd love to see Apple try its hand at a 16:9 laptop display. While the LED screen means a thinner lid and some battery life benefits, the edge-to-edge glass covering the entire display panel grabs stray light rays with ease, making the glossy screen hard to see in some lighting conditions.

Great screen, nice keyboard, fast processor, not plastic, great battery life, can run Windows if you need to do so, GREAT customer service. No Blu-Ray. Lets face it, you do not need it and it is buggy and a dying technology.
