This is a highly imaginative dark fantasy film from reknown puppet filmmaker Jan Svenkmajer. The husband of a woman, suffering the trauma of a miscarriage, gives her a tree stump resembling a child in the hopes that it will assuage her despair. Things get out of hand when the women sinks further into her delusions andthe tree stump child comes to life. And, well, the baby has an insatiable and gruesome appetite.
