When I traveled to Europe, I was really worried about not being able to speak to the locals. Unlike many Americans, I don't think the rest of the world should learn our language. i was a little embarrassed not knowing theirs (Italian, French, and Spanish). Luckily, I got by OK, but this product would have definitely help. Essentially a twist on the modern travel dictionary, it adds little pictures for you to point to when asking for directions or information. Don't worry, the English and foreign word are there as well. (via Cool Hunting)

Hey sygyzy, great find. I've actually used something similar to this in Africa before and it worked like a charm.

In the military, we call these Point-Talks and let me tell you in certain situations they are invaluable. They've managed to get me though several countries in Africa, if you're thinking of traveling somewhere where you aren't sure of the language than pack one of these along in your bag. They can be the difference between ordinary travel and extraordinary.
