I first heard Keane's amazing sound when I watched them play at a small show in Chicago. They're a great group of fellas; very humble and down to earth. They were surprised and grateful that so many in the US knew who they were and would want to come to their show. This is their debut album. It's remarkable that none of the songs feature guitars (just piano, bass, and drums). And yet it's very upbeat.

I've been listening to this album for some time - and can't seem to get tired of it! Which I can't say for a lot of songs/artists! To me, this album is a classic and will remain one for a long time. It has its own playlist on my iPod. Wonderful songs for a quiet evening alone – or more even so, in good company! :)

With Keane, less is really more. Three guys came together to form a great band with a great cd featuring just a piano, drums, and a great singer. If you like good music, you'll love Keane. I'm also a piano player and any of the songs by Keane are great to play on the piano. Because Keane is mostly piano based, you dont have to worry about the songs sounding off because you dont have a leading guitar.

Keane do a good job of setting their sonic landscape on their debut album. It's catchy, and very melodic. Their songs are anthemeic and definitely air on the arena rock side of things, but there's some interesting musicianship as well. I think they did a really nice job opening for U2 as well, and their musical sensibilities dovetail nicely.
