FireSteel

 FireSteel - Photo

Swedish FireSteel sounds really scary and military, and indeed it is a military instrument - used to start fires. So like, basically terrifying matches, but they're called FIRESTEEL, like some champion horse or silent ninja. FIRESTEEL.

An essential bit of kit for any camper, barbecue wizard or gardener, these remove the necessity for matches or lighters. They are highly reliable and easy to use, working even in damp or freezing conditions and lasting for about 3000 uses. The hot spark (3000oC) will ignite paper, dry grass, bark or whatever.

Once you have this there will be no need for matches or a lighter. Its a flint that produces a spark powerful enough to start any fire.

Nice - with 2 boys in scouts this will be a nice addition to their gear.
